A glimpse into the life and observations of New England nature essayist John Burroughs with readings from early 20th century writings. Burroughs was a regular guest at Virginia Scripps' Wisteria Cottage and observed La Jolla's marine life from the windows.

If La Jolla ever had a House of Books, D.G. Wills is it. Books, floor to ceiling, in every nook. For those in the know, the custodian of the House of Books is Dennis Wills has many stories to tell - how he accumulated books from private libraries and estates, the signed copies picked up on a lark, the first editions that got away. He'll tell (what's acceptable) in a private tour.

Matthew Welsh Studio & Home Tour

Visit architect and artist Matthew Welsh in his studio and home where he recently added extra work and living space to a bohemian environment by moving a small historic cottage to an alley behind the main house. Interior murals, inspired by historic La Jolla, are in progress for the alley cottage.
